Just a reminder to anyone making purchases through Craiglist, Facebook Marketplace, or any other online service, the City of Fort Wright has a designated Safe Internet Shopping Zone at the City Building.
In today’s world of Craigslist, etc. more and more people are conducting the exchange/sale of items through the internet. Routinely, the buyer and seller meet in public locations to make the exchange of items. This practice of meeting in public location is a wise move in these situations. The main parking lot area adjacent to the City Building at 409 Kyles Lane is under 24 hour video surveillance. Additionally, our police department operates out of this building which provides an additional layer of safety not offered at other public locations. We strongly encourage the use of this lot for meetings to transact the business of “Internet Shopping”.
