The Fort Wright Property Tax Bills have been mailed. If you have not received yours in the mail already, you should receive it shortly.
In an effort to make payment of your tax bill easy and convenient, we offer several payment options. You can mail your tax bill stub along with payment to our secured lock box address found on your bill, drop your payment off at the City Building during normal business hours, use the drop slot in the front door of the City Building after hours, or pay online with a debit or credit card. Online payments can be made with Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express. Please note that additional fees apply and are subject to transaction requirements related to your specific payment method. The City of Fort Wright does not receive any of the fees charged and can not facilitate the refunding of any of those fees to you for any reason. In the event you escrow your property tax bills please forward your bill to your mortgage company. All tax bills are due prior to close of business on Monday, December 31, 2018.
I'm also very happy to report that City Council voted to reduce property tax rates for both real and personal property this year as a result of continued commercial development and increasing property values within the community. The City of Fort Wright is a great place to live, raise a family, and grow a business thanks to competitive tax policies. Our policies encourage development, and more commercial development means lower tax rates for everyone. We are very pleased that we have been able to strike a balance between growth and protecting the people and property in our community, and we will continue to do so.
A special thank you and acknowledgement to all of the Fort Wright elected officials and staff who are dedicated to improving and enhancing our community and the services we provide for you. This is your City after all.
I encourage anyone who has any questions or concerns to contact me, any of your Council members, or our City Administrator Jill Bailey at 859-331-1700.
Best Regards,
Dave Hatter, Mayor
