Fort Wright Garden Club
The Fort Wright "Dirty Hands" Garden Club is an independent organization for people who love to garden and is open to anyone in Northern Kentucky. We like to get our hands dirty, so we designed and maintain a butterfly garden near the City Building and also maintain other landscaped beds there. Education is also important to us; it's the key to becoming better gardners and being able to take better care of the little piece of the Earth we inhabit.
The club meets on the second Thursday evening of the month, usually at the South Hills Civic Club on Bluegrass Avenue. Summer meetings are often held in members' gardens. We learn from a variety of guest speakers, but also from each other. We also have educational field trips and fun picnics. We have an annual Plant Sale & Swap in May and host a holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in December. The topic and location of our monthly meetings is always posted on our Facebook page (Ft. Wright Garden Club).
We welcome new gardeners as well as old hands. There is always someone who can answer your questions or point you to a source of information. We encourage anyone in Northern Kentucky to become a member.
